Rugby League and Studies Go Hand in Hand for Silktails Players

The Kaiviti Silktails Rugby League program continues to emphasize the importance of balancing sports and education, and the club is proud to celebrate the achievements of several players who have excelled academically while pursuing their rugby careers. These young athletes have demonstrated that hard work, discipline, and perseverance can lead to success both on and off the field.

The club congratulates the following players for passing their Year 13 exams and advancing to the next stage of their educational journeys:

  • Adrea Ramabuke: Lelean Memorial School to St Thomas High School
  • Orisi Bari: Ratu Sukuna Memorial School to St Thomas High School
  • George Satakala: MGM High School to Lautoka Central College
  • Bale Vetaukula: Ba Pro Freebird Institute

These players have shown exceptional dedication, managing the demands of academic studies while continuing to give their best in rugby. Their success is a testament to the Silktails’ commitment to developing well-rounded individuals who excel in all aspects of life.

In addition to celebrating the success of current players, the Silktails are thrilled to acknowledge the remarkable achievement of one of their former players, Joshua Neville, who recently graduated from Fiji National University (FNU) with a Diploma in Travel and Tourism Management. Reflecting on his journey, Joshua expressed his gratitude, saying:

“I dedicate this success to my Mum and Dad… They’ve always believed in me, encouraged me, and pushed me to grow as a person.”

Joshua’s story is an inspiring example of how the discipline and values learned through rugby can translate into academic and personal achievements. As a former standout for the Silktails and Saru Dragons, Joshua overcame numerous challenges through perseverance and hard work. His ability to balance the demands of rugby and education serves as a powerful reminder to young athletes that success in sports does not have to come at the expense of education.

The Silktails remain committed to fostering a culture that prioritizes education alongside rugby development. By providing a supportive environment, the program ensures that players not only thrive on the field but also build strong foundations for life beyond rugby.

As Joshua continues to pursue new opportunities and inspire others, his journey reflects the values that the Silktails stand for—discipline, resilience, and the pursuit of excellence. His success is a reminder to all players that no dream is too big and no challenge is too great when met with determination and support.

Congratulations once again to Adrea, Orisi, George, Bale, and Joshua for their incredible achievements. The Silktails family is immensely proud of you all and looks forward to seeing you shine in your future endeavors!
