Prouds Fiji Named as Kaiviti Silktails Exclusive Fiji Retail Partner

Kaiviti Silktails Merchandise will now be sold exclusively through leading Fiji Department Store, Prouds.

The arrangement will see the apparel for Fiji’s first Rugby League team to participate in an Australian Competition be sold exclusively at Prouds, and will be available for purchase in Prouds Down Town Nadi Store, Prouds Suva Central and the Prouds Airport Duty Free Store – as well as being available on the Prouds online store.

Kaiviti Silktails Chairman and NRL Hall of Famer Petero Civoniceva said having Prouds become the Silktails Exclusive Retail Partner is a goal that the club has been working towards since the club’s inception back in 2020. “The feedback we get from people abroad, particularly Aussies and Kiwis that travel to Fiji is the ability to buy a Rugby League Jersey in Fiji, particularly at the Airport, is just not there. This deal will now give those travellers the opportunity to buy a Kaiviti Silktails Jersey or any of our off-field range” said Civoniceva.

“The other part that excites us the most about partnering with Prouds was their vision to have Kaiviti Silktails merchandise accessible to everyone in Fiji, especially for families in the village. From this we have established a ‘Jersey Tee’ which will be our Home Jersey made using the material of a Training Tee Shirt. This provides the opportunity for people in Fiji to purchase our Jersey for half the price of what a Replica Jersey will cost. We want young kids in Fiji to wear our Jersey and our colours from a young age and dream of playing for the Silktails in a 26 round competition against 13 other NRL Clubs.”

The Kaiviti Silktails playing strip was manufactured by the Clubs Kit Supplier Allure-EPM, but in a first of its kind the strip was designed by the Clubs Major Sponsor Fiji Airways. “When Fiji Airways signed on as our Major Sponsor, Global Marketing Manager Christina Templin asked me about having her Creative Team design our kit for the 2024 season” said Executive Director Stephen Driscoll.

“Christina’s Creative Team, led by Timoci Ralulu, did an amazing job in putting our on-field and off-field range together – but most importantly, the Home Jersey design and colours truly tells the story of the Natewa Silktail Bird native to the Cakaudrove Province where our Chairman Petero Civoniceva’s father hails from in Vanua Levu. Christina and the Marketing Team from Fiji Airways should be really proud when our kit is on display on the shelves in Prouds.”

Allure-EPM Managing Director James Breen said that Allure are excited to announce that as kit sponsor of the Silktails, they have partnered with Prouds to exclusively carry Silktails merchandise.

“This collaboration represents a significant step in expanding our brand’s presence within the community, offering fans the opportunity to proudly support the Silktails with quality gear” said Breen.

“The introduction of Silktails merchandise at Prouds provides greater accessibility to our supporters, allowing us to further strengthen the bond between the team and its fans. We believe this partnership will contribute to the growth of the Silktails brand and bring the community closer together.”

The Kaiviti Silktails merchandise will be coming soon to Prouds.
